Concepts
CTX is built around a simple idea: software work generates context, and that context becomes valuable when it is preserved in a structured way.
A project is not just its source code. It also contains the work being performed, the periods in which that work happens, the observations made along the way, and the decisions that shape its direction.
CTX records these parts of execution as separate, connected concepts.
The Four Core Concepts
Sessions
Understand how CTX tracks your working sessions, including active work, session notes, and the time spent working on a project.
Tasks
Learn how CTX represents the work you are doing. Tasks provide structure for execution while remaining lightweight enough to evolve naturally as the work changes.
Logs
Learn how CTX captures short, meaningful observations, progress updates, ideas, issues, and attempts as you work.
Decisions
Learn how CTX records important decisions and their reasoning so they remain available as part of the project's execution context and knowledge base.
A Lightweight Execution Memory
CTX is not intended to replace your project management system, issue tracker, documentation platform, or source control. It focuses on the context generated while you are doing the work.
You can use a task to identify the work, a session to establish the working period, a log to capture something important that happened, and a decision to preserve a meaningful choice.
Together, these records form a small, local, human-readable execution memory that stays with the project.
